You choose between two routes: by motorway via Bern and Lausanne into the Valais, or shorter via Interlaken with the Lötschberg car train from Kandersteg to Goppenstein — you stay seated in the vehicle. Both are open all year; from Sierre the road climbs to the plateau, in winter on winter tyres with snow chains.
In late August and September Crans-Montana hosts the Omega European Masters; in winter there are World Cup races. For those days it is worth booking early.
The plateau consists of the villages of Crans and Montana with the golf courses in between. We drive right to your hotel or chalet. If you arrive by private aircraft, you land in Sion in the Rhône valley — we collect you there and drive you up to the plateau. If you come by train, you can change in Sierre to the funicular up to Montana; on request we also meet you at Sierre station.
The plateau is considered one of the sunniest places in Switzerland. Golf season runs from spring to autumn with the European Masters on the Severiano Ballesteros course in the middle of the resort as its highlight; in winter guests ski with a view across the Rhône valley to the Valais four-thousanders.
We drive up to Six Senses Crans-Montana, the Guarda Golf Hotel, LeCrans Hotel & Spa or your chalet on the plateau.
On the way, the Lavaux on Lake Geneva or Sion with its castles are worth a stop.
From Zurich Airport about 3 h 20 min for approx. 304 km by road, or about 3 h 50 min for approx. 235 km with the Lötschberg car train — depending on traffic, weather and the wait at the car train. We plan every drive with time to spare.
