Via Bern and Spiez the road leads through the Simmental valley and over Saanenmöser to Gstaad. The route is easy to drive all year; in winter we plan with winter tyres and snow chains.
Christmas and New Year, the February holidays, the Menuhin Festival in summer and the tennis and polo tournaments fill the Saanenland. For those weeks it is worth booking early, return trips included.
The Promenade in the village centre is car-free; the grand hotels have their own driveways, and the Gstaad Palace stands above the village. If you arrive by private aircraft, you land at Saanen airfield right next door — we collect you there and have you at your hotel in minutes.
The most sought-after weeks are Christmas to New Year and the February holidays. In summer the Gstaad Menuhin Festival plays in the churches of the Saanenland, and tennis and polo tournaments follow in July and August. Outside these times Gstaad is calm and relaxed.
