The drive to Zermatt

You choose between two routes: all the way by road via Bern, Lausanne and the Rhône valley, or shorter with the Lötschberg car train from Kandersteg to Goppenstein — you stay seated in the vehicle. Both are open all year. From Visp the road climbs the Matter Valley to Täsch; Zermatt itself is car-free.

Good to know: Zermatt is car-free

From the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch the shuttle train leaves every 20 minutes and reaches Zermatt in 12 minutes. At Zermatt station, hotels collect their guests by electric taxi. For your return, your chauffeur meets you again in Täsch.

At the Matterhorn Terminal Täsch

The terminal in Täsch is built for travellers with lots of luggage: luggage trolleys, level boarding onto the shuttle train and a car park right next door. Your chauffeur stops at the entrance, loads your bags and walks with you to the train. For the return we set the time around the timetable.

Skiing almost all year

On the glacier at the Klein Matterhorn you can ski even in summer; the main winter season runs from December to April. Zermatt Unplugged plays in April and the Zermatt Marathon runs in July. For Christmas, New Year and the Easter weeks we recommend booking early.

Your hotel in Zermatt

Many of our guests stay at the Mont Cervin Palace, The Omnia or the Riffelalp Resort. We time your arrival in Täsch around your hotel's check-in.

On the way

On the way, a stop in Bern, on Lake Thun or in Visp is easy to arrange — just let us know.
